AQUA CARPATICA REVIEW + TEST

Aqua Carpatica Water review & test

Do you aim to drink 2-3 litres of water a day, but fail because you don't like the taste.  Am I the one with my hand up ? If not it’s ok but there is hope ........
maybe !

WHAT IS AQUA CARPATICA ?

I was kindly sent a box of Aqua Carpatica to review and conduct a nitrate test .  Aqua Carpatica launched in the UK in 2016 and it's an award winning brand known for having the 'purest water'.  Aqua Carpatica has had rave reviews due to its 'great after taste' and affordable price tag as it's only £0.65p for 500ml at Ocado

WELCOME TO MY BLOG

Firstly welcome to my new blog this is my first post.  My name is Bachay (pronounced Buh-shy) aka Bee and welcome to my budget friendly vegan lifestyle blog.  I will feature a wide range of food, health and lifestyle posts.  So this post is the perfect introduction to my style of blogging as I have recently become more health conscious, so I was interested in reviewing Aqua Carpatica's award winning range.

DRINK MORE WATER

It is important that we drink enough water on a daily basis as water consumption is an essential to our health and wellbeing as :
  • Our bodies are in fact at least 50% water and most people have an average of 57 - 60 % of water within their bodies
  • Water rehydrates the body and helps to regulate your body temperature
WATER & ME

As someone who has suffered with high cholesterol in the past and who has been living with IBS for the past 17 years.   I know what a difference water can make on a day to day basis ,so I recently increased my water intake and I have introduced more alkaline foods into my diet.  These are mostly foods with a high water content such as leafy greens; beans; berries and I have also decreased my consumption of acidic foods.   Acidic foods include processed foods, meat, dairy and wheat .

This really helps to strengthen the immune system and I have supplemented this by also creating homemade lemon or citrus flavoured detox water.  This helps me to meet my daily water intake target and I will share any new recipes or tips with you in future posts .

WHAT IS AQUA CARPATICA

Aqua Carpatica is a bottled water brand that intrigued me when I came across it as it is unique. It offers something different to the bottled water market as it is derived from the untouched springs in the Carpatican Mountains in Romania. Aqua Carpatica water was awarded first place in the Olive magazine awards beating the popular and higher priced Fiji water. Lastly it is perfect for an alkaline diet like mine, as it is alkaline, nitrate free, sodium free, rich in magnesium and calcium.

REVIEW & TASTE TEST

The nitrate test

I filled one glass jar with tap water (Sample 1) and one jar with Aqua Carpatica (Sample 2).

I put a testing stick into both Sample 1 and Sample 2.  I waited for one minute, when that minute was over I removed the testing sticks from each of the samples.  I then compared the two sticks, where I found that Sample 1 had turned the stick slightly pink. While Sample 2 had little to no effect on the testing stick.

Taste test

I first tried the mineral water which was quiet smooth and clean tasting for water with such a high PH (PH 7.8), so I was pleasantly surprised.  I actually filmed my reaction and the whole nitrate test to the best of my ability as I was holding a camera and a bottle of water at the same time. You can see my review & reaction in the video below.  I also tried the sparkling water which to be honest I am not a fan of sparkling water in general but this was ok.  There wasn’t a strong after taste which is good.

Conclusion

The results indicate that Aqua Carpatica has less nitrates compared to tap water and I can guarantee you that it has a great taste.  I would recommend this brand as not only is it affordable, but it probably has one the highest PH 7.8 levels out of all of the alkaline water’s available.  Therefore it great for everyone as water keeps us hydrated.  It is great for expectant mothers, those with high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, people on nitrate free and sodium free diets.  As I previously mentioned it is great for people who have digestive problems, those who participate in exercise or for people who like to drink a lot water.  As I know there are lots of people who only drink water and never drink juices, soft drinks and hot drinks.
